A nice sound! Little Girlie vocals with guitar that puck a punch, but never lose the melodies. Hummable, singable, and unforgettable. These songs will stick inyour head for a long time, and you'll be glad they're there.

oh i loved belly.. their first album was magic.. pure magic.. and i went and saw them play down here in oz and it totally spun me out.. their second release.. well.. average..

But Tanya's stuff is very sweet.. and if you see their first album ( STAR ) around in the bargain bin .... snap it up.. its pure musical magic

Belly are great and Tanya is my favourite American female vocalist (almost on apar with Valerie of Autour de Lucie and Liz Fraser). 'Star' is a bloody classic and far better than anything Muses/Kristin has done- sorry I prefer Tanya.
Tanya's solo album was also great so why does the SODDING BRITISH MUSIC PRESS always give em crap reviews.

Belly is one of those bands that are a little tricky to get into at first, as Tanya's songs are never simple and starightforward. But once the hook (or hooks) get into your brain, you can't shake them. Slow Dog is definately one of my top 20 songs ever, Feed The Tree and Ghepeto not far behind. And her voice is mesmeric! Oh - and she can play guitar a bit too!

King is one of the best albums of the 90's. Literally every song is good. Belly was really popular in that era - they were even on the cover of Rolling Stone (perhaps making them too big for Auralgasms :) ). It's a shame that they only have 2 CD's, but Tanya Donnelly can't seem to stay in the same band for more than 2 CD's. If you like her voice, you might enjoy her solo work. Unfortunately, the song quality isn't the same as Belly.

If you like bands such as Garbage, Lush, or Throwing Muses, Im sure you will love Belly. Very catchy, girlie rock. I wouldn't mind owning this CD myself.

This band is the best! I absolutely love Tanya Donelly. YouÆve got to give some of it a few more listenings than you would most pop stuff. There are a lot of complex key changes and itÆs a little hard to follow at first, especially on ôKingö. But, if you stick with it, youÆll be rewarded with many hours of listening enjoyment and the songs will take a long time to dry up on you.
