If you think Balligomingo's debut CD is great for sex, try listening to Delerium's Semantic Spaces. Kristy Thirsk (Vocals for both Balligomingo's Heat and Delerium's Semantic Spaces) has a lot more songs that are worthy of what you are saying about Heat. Plus you can see how Balligomingo's Garret Schwartz blatently rips off the lyrical melody Kristy uses in Incantation with his song Lost. The singer in Lost can't even hold a candle to Kristy and Delerium is much better than Balligomingo. With all that said, I still liked Balligomingo's debut album, but it's nothing to go crazy over.

    Hi Mr Ed,

I also love Semantic Spaces and already own it. My copy is well-used. :D

I'm truly not an expert but from what little research I have done, Balligomingo is a "hybrid"-or break-off group from Delerium. If that's the case, then it might be easy to incorporate a similar melodic line...sometimes without the writer even realizing it.

Delerium, Enigma & Vangelis are the great standard I always judge New Age Electronica by anyway. In my opinion, they are the genesis of this type of music and are the best.

I agree with you that Semantic Spaces is one of the classic HOT CD's in this genre. I was only stating that HEAT makes me HOT...especially, when Kristy sings in her strong lower octave range. It is a very sexy song. She is quite a versatile singer and deserves more recognition.

    Hugs,

A great CD for sex! Seriously, the song "Heat" is appropriately named...as you start feeling warm all over from the very first note!
