Well there is always a point in your life when you go down the route of selling out, and i fear this might be my time, i went for an interview today with the ifpi also know as the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. Working in the Internet Piracy department, now is this selling out or is this protecting music? im trying to humor myself into thinking that it is saving music but i want to know what everyone else thinks? would i be selling out?

That is a very good question and serious fork-in-the-road decision you are in the process of making for yourself. If I may just add my two-cents, I hope something I say will make a bit of sense.
It seems that you have a situation where there may be career advantages and monetary rewards with the organization you are considering. If I understand you properly, you are at a point of cognitive dissonance  because at some fundamental level you are morally and ethically opposed to the type of work you would be directly involved in. With that said, it is crucial to understand that being  labeled or thinking of oneself as a "sellout" is to miss the significance of the big picture. The big picture is do I choose door (A) that can provide  a better career profession and lifestyle or do I choose door (b) stick to my convictions and hope that another opportunity with less direct opposition to my core beliefs will arise.
Which door you choose is entirely up to you in terms of you doing what you feel is best for your future LONG-TERM. It is not an issue of selling out or anything. The issue is, will this opportunity help you become what you envisioned for yourself at this stage in your life. In other words, if this job is a significant opportunity that comes along with a couple of principles you may have to negotiate - then so be it and seize the opportunity. However, if this job presents a mode of life in a career that is too great of a compromise for yourself - emotionally, spiritually, ethically, etc. then do not accept it because in spite of what people say, money has never facilitated happiness - it at best conducts opportunities and nothing more.

Sorry for the late reply, been busy with some things minor projects that im working on, but not going to far with! i was offerd teh Job, but i declined to take it, and here is where i go into why, it would of been a good job, but i decided that my morals were more important, and i dont think that the music industry is threted as they like to say they are, yes music is becoming cheaper because of the revoloution in digital media at the end of the day it was gonna happen some day and now saying that they wont be able to produce music any more because its not as economicly viable is i belive  a hope heap of bull,

More over, i really dont support DRM, its too Nazi for me to be a part of  rights are being taken away by large corporate entities who don’t care about you. I am not for piracy, you really should not steal music,  but i cant be part of something that forcable infoces DRM its a big thing for me,
