I admit I've played the field. And there are times when I get a bug in me I can't get out until I log on to some generic 80s synthpop station for a few hours. But I keep coming back to Auralgasms.
Most recently I've been playing around with a well-known station that lets you input a song or artist and then it uses some complex mumbo jumbo to play you similar music that may not always be considered similar. While it's usually not too far off, it plays something like Brittney Spears or Madonna for me at least once a day, inducing rapid gagging. (If only it played Bigod 20's cover of Like a Prayer I might be alright with it.)
Anyway, this thing is a lot of fun to play around with, and I love custom-tailoring multiple stations, etc. But you know what? When the novelty wears off I'm left with the realization that it plays music I like less often than Auralgasms does, and even though it was designed to introduce me to new music, Auralgasms has introduced me to far more music that I've fallen in love with.
So while I might play the field now and then, Auralgasms will always be home.
