I've got a fever... and the only prescription is more cowbell!

Quiet frankly, between MikeyLove's and Zumby's musical tastes you guys do a pretty good job of covering a wide spectrum of music. I like some of the very obscure 'college' stuff you added but would love to see more. Zumby and I have had talks on this.

I would like to suggest Karmacoda, I think they would fit in beautifully here.

If you are not familiar with Karmacoda they have 6 (!) songs that can be downloaded for free from Amazon's CDNow.com.

    Will ya think about it?

    Regards,
    Erin

P.S. I was floored to see your Lunascape selection.

Also, a band called Astaire. They've got an EP coming out this fall, but you can hear all of it at their website www.astairemusic.com if you've got Quicktime. Described as Europop.

Re: Your chance to influence the playlist

    hey!... i'm the newbie...
ok, if you ask..... i feel like you're missing NickCave!!!, specially some songs from NoMoreShallWePart, a really quiet and melodic cd (loveletter, darker with the day, sixteen feets of pure white snow..).

Also see we need some Fionna Apple, songs like 'Never is a Promise' or 'Sullengirl'.... ANDDD I would also like suggest some more songs... can't believe you have pretty much everything from Peter Murphy!!! :D Could you add the unbelievable 'Cascade'?... Also one or two songs from Suzzane Vega's Nine objects of desire, specially 'caramel' and 'my favourite plum'...

About new artists, -well, not really- would you try Zero7?...'the waiting line', 'distractions'...... if you dare with some spanish-spoken-classy-electronic-kind of rock ... i'd go for GustavoCerati, 'Pulsar'... 'Paseo Inmoral' .... 'Rombos' ...

And last but not least, what about wonderful 'king of sorrow', 'no ordinary love' and 'somebody already broke my heart' from Sade?

    Thx for reading!!!!

Re: Your chance to influence the playlist

I would add some songs of these albums:

"Faded Seaside Glamour" The Delays (like Wanderlust, Nearer Than Heaven or Long Time Coming)
"The Soundings" Blue States (The Last Blast, Output...)
    "Noise" Archive (Sleep, Get Out...)
"A Thousand Last Chances" Eskobar (Big Sleeper, Love Strikes, Under These Stars...)
"Play for Me" Kemopetrol (Undying Love, Floater...)
"California" Perry Blake, or last album "Songs For Someone" (Ordinary Day, Native New Yorker, Venus of the Canyon...)
"Another Day" Lene Marlin (Fight Against The Hours, Disguise, You Weren't There...)
"Mayday" Najwa (Go Cain, Hey Boys Girls, Trained...)

Besides, I would put on list songs like "Sweetest Decline" by Beth Orton, "Something Moved Me" by Haven, "While We're In Love" by Ivy, "Your Eyes Open" and "Untitled I" by Keane, "Universal Traveller" by Air, and some songs from danish band Saybia.

Re: Your chance to influence the playlist

I would like to see some songs from Out of Season by Beth Gibbons and Rustin Man........"show" is my personal fave, but any from that CD would be awesome.......more portishead too :) .........i notice Ruby isn't listed anywhere......."Paraffin", "Hoops", "Grace", "The Fuse"......all great songs! More Crustation should be available as well as Esthero and Flunk.....and you definitely need to get some Fiona Apple! She's too great to miss! Also, Waldeck......."floater" is an awesome song......

All in all though, I think you guys are doing great! Awesome website and great selection of music.......a lot I already new about, but still a lot I didn't......

Yet another beautiful nugget...Phoenix! Where is Phoenix? You may recognize them from the Lost In Translation soundtrack. They also have two fantastic cd's, one 'Alphabetical' just recently released. Mmmmmm! French pop/rock, but so much more. At times they have a real disco vibe.

I would really like to see Rhea's Obession, collide, Bif Naked, Jack off Jill, Switchblade Symphony, four calling birds, three french hens, two turtledoves and a cowbell in pear tree.

I thought some Blue Nile might be nice. The album 'Hats' would make an excellent addition to your soundscape. They became quite obscure after 'Downtown Lights' back in 1989, but they were a huge influence on a lot of other bands, including the brilliant Trash Can Sinatras.

    In my opinion, anyway!

Re: Your chance to influence the playlist

Excellent timing my friend. I JUIST finished adding some Blue Nile to the station. The songs will be available for request by the end of the evening. I did my best to pick out the good ones, but by all means let me know if i missed a gem.

    thanks for the recommendation,
    Mikey

Re: Your chance to influence the playlist

Thank you so much for putting on The Blue Nile. I hope that other people enjoy their melancholy atmospheric music as I do. I especially appreciate the way you've put the new songs from 'High' on there, as it hasn't even been released yet. (Can you do the same for the Trash Can Sinatras, just wondering!)

Anyway, there are a few gems I would add:
From the first album titled 'A Walk Across the Rooftops'
'A Walk Across the Rooftops', 'Tinsel Town in the Rain' and 'Easter Parade'. From 'Hats' I think you might you might have overlooked the two most gloriously depressing songs of all time 'Let's Go Out Tonight' and 'From a Late Night Train.' They both conjure up neon Blade Runner-esque city landscapes for me, New York in the rain, that sort of thing. See what you think.

    Cheers,
    Patto

Thank you for putting on Eskobar, but first single "Love Strikes" is not listed :-(.
