    Mikey's Sonic Heaven

    hi folks,

i decided that for this weeks Aural Bliss show that i am doing in K8's absense, that i would play a Mikey's greatest hits of sorts. As i started picking out songs for the show, it quickly started turning into a tribute to Big Sonic Heaven, featuring most of my favorite songs from the show, and songs that helps influence my love for this genre.

the problem is...there was so much to choose from, and i couldn't fit the show in 2 hours. so...this weeks show will be long, running at 2 and 1/2 hours. I know it's late on a sunday evening...but trust me...the show is LOADED with songs that are classics to all, combined with a few songs that are classics to me that you might not know of.

I think this will be a fun show to listen to and participate in the chat during, because there is going to be a lot of great music and aritsts to talk about, and people in the room can discuss THEIR favorites.

I don't want to spoil my playlist, but i thought it would be fun if people would contribute their top 10 Big Sonic Heaven songs to this message board topic. For those that don't know what Big Sonic Heaven is...well....your top 10 Aural Bliss songs would be rougly up the right alley.

it would mean a lot to me if you all could show up and pay your respects to this genre that we all love.

hope to see you in the chatroom on July 30th.

    Re: Mikey's Sonic Heaven

Definitely some of the key tunes that made Big Sonic Heaven.  I'd like to add "Heart Failed" by St. Etienne, "Warm Sun" by Perfume Tree, and "In Our Angelhood" by Cocteau Twins.  Unfortunately, when "Planet 96.3" became the pop-station "DVD", I had a bad feeling that Big Sonic Heaven would be in danger, and unfortunately after a couple years it was gone.  Fortuantely Auralgasms is here to fulfill the need.
