    A great find

As a very devoted fan of Delerium, Conjure One, Kristy Thirsk, Harland, and Chemda, Astronaut Wife fits in very well with this outstanding group. Astronaut Wife has a little bit of a different electronic style than Delerium and C1, but acts as a good companion to those two. Beyond the instrumental aspect, the vocals have a good sound that could be most aptly compared to Harland's. (But I still definitely prefer Harland et al.) In the end, I would recommed this group. Check out the MP3 downloads of five different songs at http://www.susstones.com/mp3.html. These songs are what I based this review on. Sit back and enjoy the music.

    Re: A great find

As a fan of all of the above (Although I am not familiar with Chemda's work outside of Conjure One) I find I agree with most of what Ed says, but as much as I enjoy Harland, I like the vocals of Astronaut Wife better.

Why? Because of the harmonies. The girls in the group lay down some seriously smooth vocals that harmonize in untraditional and refreshing ways.

The music is a little higher energy than Delerium, if less deep. If I had to describe it, I'd say the group sounds smoething like the Corrs backed by BT.

I recommend listening to the tracks "Cape Canaveral" and "Superpowers," both of which may still be available as MP3 downloads from the Susstones archive:

These track are probably a little more approachable to new AW listeners than, say, Dolphin Language Translator.

    Cheers
