This is in response to the previous post about the reason the pimps let kelli go. I'll start this out by saying that Kelli has grabbed my heart in a way that no other female singer has quite been able to. Her voice, her music and her beauty make me feel as close a thing to love as I can realistically feel for someone I know I will probably never meet.
The problem is that love historically has clouded my judgement on things and blinded me to realities that were smacking me right in the face. So i am going to do my best ot be objective about this despit my personal feelings about her.
A very close friend of mine got to see the pimps play los angeles one night, i was suppsoed to attend with my girlfriend, but some relationship problems arose that night and i was unable to attend. The next day what my friend told me kind of surprised me. Kelli had been very negative about the people of Los Angeles (where this concert was taking place) and americans in general. I am not quoting since i was not there, but it was to the effect of 'you americans don't know how to party, this scene is a joke' type of thing. It struck a very negative chord with the audience especially since this was a rave type of event where the energy between the performers and the crowd really sets the mood for the whole night.
So put yourself in the pimps shoes, you started a band, you hire a singer, and yeah she is amazing, but she also has a chip on her shoulder. Her actions are creating negative feelings and directly represent you. Since you don't agree with what she is doing, what would you do in that same situation? I am not saying i know for sure this is what happened but it is something to think about
To finish this up, I do not think this in any way should obscure the amazing creations that kelli has made on her own, i still love her music, and she is entitled to her opinions, but i do feel the pimps deserve the benefit of the doubt on this one, because from what i have heard that could make a lot of sense
