My Review of self titled album "Asobi Seksu" (Track by Track)

Track #1(I'm Happy, but you don't like me" Great song, best one on the album, great beat and Yuki's voice is very smooth. Wish they would have supplied an English version as well on the CD. A great song to listen to when you are on a long road trip in a car. Very Energizing.

Track#2 (Sooner) This is a nice slow song, where both Yuki and James do a duet on this. Pace is changed up well with periodic energized guitar blasts.

Track #3 (In Japanese) Why are all the upbeat sounding songs sung in Japanese and all the melodramatic and slow ones in English? Excellent work by the drummer, Keith Hopkin, which is the highlight of this particular track.

Track #4 (Walk on the Moon) Very melodramatic song and somewhat depressing. It reminds me of something they would play on an episode of Beverly Hills 90210 or the OC where some spoiled rich kid is trying to decide between sleeping with the blonde or the brunette or just stay faithful to the girl next door. Oh....the depth of it all. The vocals are fine and the song is played well, it's just not my kind of song

Track 5(Let them Wait) James is the lead singer on this song and he sounds a lot like Jakob Dylan. Easygoing song, my only concern was that at times the instruments were louder then his voice so I had to keep replaying song to find out what was being said.

Track #6 (In Japanese) Very upbeat, pop style song, so it of course was sung in Japanese.

Track 7 No real excitement with this track personally. Others might like it..

Track 8 No real excitement for me personally with this track either.

9- This track was excruciatingly awful. The annoying sound reminded me of a cat trying to cover it's scat on a concrete sidewalk. This is strictly experimental noise.

    10. Another duet with James and Yuki, with James winning out in the singing department because Yuki is being to breathy and smokie voice sounding on this track. She should just sing like she normally does.

11 I like the acoustic guitar on this. It is an easy listening song by James with Yuki supplying auralgasmic moans in the background.

My overall score is a 3.5 out of a possible 5 stars. The groups is talented, can play their instruments, and they can get even better. I highly recommend you purchase the album. I was very critical of some songs, but for the most part, the album is sound. Make sure you buy it from In Sound so the band can get their share of the proceeds. I really believe they can hit it big. If they get the chance.and keep on improving.
