He'll soon be what Dylan was in the 60's! Just Listen to "Come pick me up","Oh my sweet Carolina" or "To be young..." ! Check also "Gold" ... He allready had released last year's best record and he does it again this year! Where will he stop? And he allready has recorded 3 albums that will be released next year... a music lover's dream...Stay tuned!

Ryan Adams is pure refreshing! "Gold" is simply amazing- 'New York' is a strong track, and I predict he will soon become a common name.

Gold is STUCK in my CD player and I dont care...Bumped Pete yorn out of the top spot for my favorite CD. Cant get tired of it. Saw him live the other night. Interesting. Fancies himself as quite the rocker. It works on some songs but not others. I just didnt think Rescue Blues needed a bloodcurdling scream. Still a good show and a phenomenal disc.

A very nicely rough-around-the-edges solo debut for the Whiskeytown singer! WUMB Folk radio has been making good use of Amy.

From the same breed as solo Paul Westerberg stuff. Some mellow contemplativeness with a rocker thrown in just to show ya that, yes he still can. Expect a dirty ashtray and a few empty bottles after listening to this one.

Ryan Adams is addicting. Gold is one of the best CD's I own. I just can't seem to stop listening to it. Answering Bell is mesmerizing! Ryan's voice mixed with back up vocals form Adam Duritz is simply amazing.

I bought the Heartbreaker album last year after seeing Ryan at King Tut's in Glasgow.
Glad to see him coming back to the Garage.
    Amazing live can't wait

This guy is amazing. His '99 album "Heartbreaker" in my opinion is one of the most underappreciated and unnoticed albums of the year. Now with "Gold" he's taken himself to the next level, adding more dimensions to his incredible songwriting. He's taken the best of his solo sound and added the best elements of his Whiskeytown days to create another amazing album. One of my top 5 albums of the year thus far.

OK, move over Pete Yorn and Elliot Smith! Ryan Adams is in the HOOOOUSE! This is americana at it's best. ADDICTIVE toe-tapping, steering wheel drummin', head shakin' good.

genius - but prefer his slower stuff i.e. most of Heartbreaker. Oh My Sweet Carolina, Call Me On Your Way Back Home, Easy Hearts, The Fools We Are As Men and The Bar Is A Beautiful Place are some of my favourite songs ever. seems he's going downhill with Gold (although i still like it), but then Heartbreaker and Pneumonia were pretty hard to better.

Just saw him in Denver.Ryan puts on one of the best shows I've ever seen. He plays for hours, too. If you ever have the chance , go and see him. You won't be disappointed.

the worst part about listening to most alt-country is trying to explain to people how it's nothing like (pop)country. it drives me batty...but is no deterrent to listening to some fine tunage.
