'Innocence Falls' is the name of the brilliant new album release by artist and producer 'Carla' of Melodrift Productions. The title track to the album itself, also called 'Innocence Falls', has been causing a tremendous amount of activity and streaming of the song since it became available on the company's website, mostly due to its powerful and catchy beat enhanced by Carla's strong and experienced vocal.

The track was written by co-producer Dave Meredith who is signed to Melodrift Productions as well as Basement Music Group Las Vegas. The combination between Dave's style of production and Carla's incredible vocal range has resulted in an influx of very impressed and interested listeners globally, and Carla's music has been said by reviewers to be a 'refreshing and unique gem' in the mindfield of commercial material.

Carla has not only solely produced her entire album herself, with the co-operation of acclaimed British Engineer and Producer Colin Preston of ICD Studios, but she also co-owns Melodrift Productions, the Independent Label which she decided was to be the ultimate kick in the face to major industries.

Carla: I've never been the type of person to beg for anything, and I make very little 'noise' about what I do. I have always been confident that those who listen to me will see where I'm coming from, and don't need to look behind me for any 'big guys' to know that it's good enough! So having achieved the creation of a company and being able to take my music to a professional level has been the ultimate challenge and the most rewarding thing I ever did in my life.

The birth of Carla's music career began nearly a decade ago where she sang privately for small events and weddings in her hometown. Local entertainment companies realised her potential and soon contracted her for two solid years as the main act for the glamorous International Casino, and since then work never stopped coming in.

Carla: I was always amazed how people would walk up to me and ask me to sing at their weddings, parties and private events without even knowing my name or how much it might cost them!

I think I ran out of hotels and places to sing at in the end. I seemed to just go around in circles, I felt very unfulfilled. My soul was crying out for individuality. After spending nearly eight years performing and paying tribute to other artists songs, I realised I had to express myself and my own point of view. I had been working in the entertainment industry for so many years and I realised how most of it was built around hype. I felt I had to break free from those chains and show the real person underneath it all. It was time to move forward. I quit my job, spent two years with my head stuck in a studio and made a pact with God. I asked if HE could allow me to achieve my potential so that I could give something back to others.

Prayers were answered through sheer hard work and determination. Carla's dream became the form of Melodrift Productions. The Music Company which primarily supports Carla's work but also gives industry advice and genuine promotion and support to the unsigned.

Carla: I want to help people. We all need that network of feedback, encouragement and support, without that it would be like writing a brilliant novel and burying it in the sand. I did the research, built up the company, walked into a professional recording studio and said 'This is what I want to do'. I know I have left people with their mouths open at my headstrong determination. I just want to use my talent without having to strip off in order to sell my music, or sell my soul to anyone else because I know what I am capable of, and I'm not letting anyone take that away from me. The more support I get from other musicians and the general public the more I can give back. Melodrift Productions is only the beginning. I'm going to turn things around and give to real people, as well as get real people what they deserve. I live by the saying 'You are the change you wish to see in the world'.

I signed Dave Meredith on because I could feel their passion. Dave has become a pillar of support to me and we promote his work wherever we go. I strongly believe in giving as well as taking, it's just the way I am, but I want to have full control over my music and do it my own way. It was hard work. Not only was I making the butter, I wanted to make the bread to hold it all in. I was not interested when a producer for commercial artists showed interest in me. I didn't want to be looked at like some diva or superstar because I don't want to be misrepresented or turned into a clone or a product. It has never been about money or fame, for me that is not success. Success for me was passing on a message through my music and finally being recognised for my own artistic expression. I am a strong-willed and confident person, and I stick by my own rules. It's just about me and my music, and that is all I want people to see and appreciate.

Most of the songs from Carla's album were composed by her in 2003, it was when she started building a solid fan base that she took it seriously enough to go some levels higher in her career. She has managed to gain a large network of support in the last two years from devoted 'fans' who are not only loving the music but really loving and respecting the whole attitude Carla has that comes with it. She has gained huge respect from people at every level of the industry due to her professional attitude and sole dedication, resulting in an influx of magazine newspaper and radio interviews.

The album was designed to appeal to a wide range of listeners. I get feedback from people as young as 15, and as mature as 80. They all relate to me for what I am trying to say, and they appreciate me for showing my true colours, standing by what I believe in, and that I don't try to pretend to be something I'm not.

Carla: My friends laugh at me and say, "Watch it, you might be famous for trying so hard not to be". It's the funniest joke now with me, since my music is becoming so popular. I didn't really expect things to take off as much as they have, and I'm astonished how orders are now pouring in for the album, in record stores as well as online. I have reached far further than I had hoped for, all just for having faith and being myself.
